Full Metal Panic 2nd Raid OVA

I just finished watching Full Metal Panic 2nd Raid OVA . If you like Tessa, You'll be happy to hear your favorite character has a panty shot less then 1 minute into the OVA and a shower scene 3 minutes later. But really the episode shows a lot of character development within the sub crew. You find out who's the closet anime fan, the practical joker, the cook, and the character most likely to grope a certain unconscious female character. It's not as good as Fumoffu in my opinion, Fumoffu is my favorite release of the 3 previous releases. Anyone else see this yet? Did you like it?

Great Podcast about Anime, fan culture and Otaku

Lawrence Eng talks about his studies of otaku and anime fans on the Weekly Anime Review Podcast it's a really informative show from the master of all things Lain it's a short only 30 minute long if you interested in fan culture and the difference between American and Japanese fans listen. I first encountered Lawrence's website after watching Serial Experiment Lain for the first time and needing lots of help understanding what exactly is going on in that anime.

The Value of Fan Opinions

So little time and so much manga and anime. I think fans of anime and manga now have a reverse problem of what early fans had who traded tapes with each other. While they had to hunt and search for anime, we just have to turn on our computers or subscribe to netfix's and we have the world at our feet. But if you work or have school and aren't a Hikikomori there isn't possibly enough time to watch it all. That's where the fans of today can help each other out, where as before fans traded tapes now we need to trade opinions .

That said

I'm reading Genshiken 5 right now and the series just keeps improving it is my favorite manga currently.

I'm watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya it's all over the place but it 's pretty interesting. They have a weird way of releasing the episodes out of order I'm not sure why.
