Su ki da (I Love You)

Yu (Aoi Miyazaki) watches as Yosuke (Eita) plays guitar after school and then draws his portrait during class but the two high school students don’t’ know how to express their feelings. Yu’s confident her older sister (Sayuri Oyamada) isn’t much help as she has lost someone very important to her recently. Fast forward 17 years and Yosuke (Hidetoshi Nishijima) meets Yu (Hiromi Nagasaku) by chance in a recording studio. Will they be able to deal with their feelings any better now that they have matured.

This is a beautiful movie filled with images, there is little dialog as the characters strugle so much communicating with each other. Also the film soundtrack is mostly natural environment as the music is supplied by Yosuke playing the same song as he struggles to compose it. I liked the movie very much, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who wants a complex plot with lots going on. The movie is almost meditative as we see the characters struggle to communicate with each other. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes a slow pace drama Haikei, Chichiue-sama or Oishii Kankei

I downloaded the movie at FSS, you must register to use the site. The link for the bit torrent file is here. It is also avaiable as a DVD from Asian DVD Club, download the bit torrent file here.
