Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

Toki wo Kakeru Shojo is a lite novel written by Tsutsui Yasutaka, it was made into a live action movie in 1983 and a manga but last summer was the first time it ever was animated. The story is about a girl Makato and two childhood friends Chiaki and Kouske, she learns to time slip and the movie shows what she uses her power for and the consequences of it's use.

The anime movie was produced by Madhouse and it is beautifully made, the art work is just gorgeous. I don't know how much the story was altered from the original as I haven't read the novels, I don't think they've been translated. I did watch the 1983 Live Action movie and while the characters remain close to the anime version the storyline has been altered quite a bit. I love time slip stories so of course I really enjoyed this movie. There's even a drama connection Hara Sachie (Your Under Arrest) is a voice actress for the anime.

Download the mkv Video bit torrent file here. It has English and Russian subtitles.

omgahh! i just finished it - it was awesome. the spot when chiaki time stops and meets mokoto was a brutally awesome plot twist. even though he asked abou ttime leaping on the cellphone, i didnt see it coming cause that scene was focused on kouske and the shy girl almost dying.

totally awesome post and recommendation for this anime.
