Ichi Rittoru no Namida Screen Caps

One Litre of Tears
This first episode is perhaps the only episode in which you won’t cry, at least until it’s over and they show some still pictures of the actual Aya, Kitou Aya (1962-1988) who died from Spinocerebellar Degeneration Disease. Sawajiri Erika (Sugar & Spice, Ghost Train) stars as Ikeuchi Aya, she is working in the family tofu shop with her brother and sisters, Miyoshi Ani (Teppan Shoujo Akane!!) as Ikeuchi Rika and Narumi Riko (Enka no Joou, Trick) as Ikeuchi Ako on the day of her entrance exam to high school. Jinnai Takanori (Tantei Gakuen Q, Teppan Shoujo Akane!!) as Ikeuchi Mizuo her father runs the shop and her mother Ikeuchi Shioka played by Yakushimaru Hiroko (Tiger & Dragon, Kisarazu Cat's Eye) helps in the shop but is also a health care worker and former nurse who recognizes that her daughter is having problems falling down and other motor skill problems likes holding chop sticks. Over tired on the day of the exam from study and work she falls asleep on the bus and misses the stop for the school. After falling and knocking over a line a bikes she is helped by Asou Haruto played by Nishikido Ryo (Attention Please, Ganbatte Ikimasshoi). I don’t usually enjoy very sad dramas or medical shows but this is a rare exception. I bet anything you can’t make it through the series without crying many times, but the message isn’t that it’s sad but that Aya is so very special. Fujiki Naohito (Hotaru no Hikari, Proposal Daisakusen) plays Mizuno Hiroshi her doctor.
