Dream Again Screen Caps

Ogi Shunsuke played by Sorimachi Takashi (Great Teacher Onizuka, Beach Boys), a star baseball player is called up to pinch hit, for the first time since a shoulder injury stopped the 33 year old starter. The coach advises him that the game is in his hands, he steps up to the plate pointing towards the spot where he plans to hit the home run. But much to the children's disappointment he makes an out instead of a hit thereby losing the game and is sent back to the minor league team. Maeda Kenzo played by Watanabe Tetsu (Ikebukuro West Gate Park, Gachi Baka) is his coach who calls after him after he is fired from the team. He wants to know if Ogi's running away, did his passion for baseball burn out? The story shifts to one year ahead, Ogi now a salaryman, is told by a little league player that he is his idol and wants to know when he's coming back to baseball. Ogi removes his tie and starts to run then he enters a restaurant and joins his fiancé Ninomiya Satsuki played by Kato Ai (Ikebukuro West Gate Park, Haken no Hinkaku). He apologies as explains to her that he wants to postpone the wedding and try to make a comeback, she storms out of the restaurant. Later as Ogi crosses a bridge he removes the ring from his finger and flings it into the river during a violent thunderstorm, immediately after as he starts to walk again a bolt of lighting strikes his umbrella killing him. When he regains his senses he's back in the Tokyo Giants locker room, and a man played by Kodama Kiyoshi (Hero, Kiken na Aneki) is there who says that his name is Tanaka and that he is Ogi's guide to heaven.

Did you see the 1978 movie "Heaven Can Wait" with Warren Beatty which is a remake of the 1941 movie "Here Comes Mr. Jordan", or the Heaven Can Wait remake in 2001 as "Down to Earth". I've seen the first two but not the third or the porno "Heavens Touch", and Heaven Can Wait and Here Comes Mr. Jordan are a couple of my favourite movies. In this new Japanese drama with minor differences Sorimachi takes Beatty's role and instead of a football player, plays a baseball player looking to make a comeback. Kato Ai is the woman who replaces Julie Christie. 29 years later I find the story as fresh and engaging as when I saw it in theatres for the first time, and Sorimachi a worthy stand-in for Beatty. Kato Ai isn't in the first episode enough to compare yet. A new wrinkle on the Heaven Can Wait storyline is provided by the excellent young actress Shida Mirai (Tantei Gakuen Q, Joou no Kyoushitsu).

I highly recommend this drama to fans of the Korean movie "My Sassy Girl" or "The Girl Who Leapt Thru Time". I really look forward to seeing more episodes of this show to see what new in the afterlife for Ogi.

The fix is imminent! Thanks to everyone for sending in your reports, they've helped us narrow down the problem. I'll update this thread as soon as the fix is out. this was a post by a blogger employee on the help site on October 11th, 9 days later it's still not working.

That's why the screen caps have been changed, I'm using a different photo hosting site in the interim. Let me know which style you prefer, this which should load quicker with the smaller thumbnails or the previous style with larger images dislplayed. To see a thumbnail full size now just click on it.
