Lunch no Joou Screen Caps

The story opens as two chefs Nabeshima Yujiro played by Eguchi Yosuke (Unfair Special, Shinsengumi) and Nabeshima Junzaburo played by Tsumabuki Satoshi (Long Love Letter, Orange Days) discuss omurice, then the scene changes to a coffee shop where a customer is being apologized to by the waitress played by Takeuchi Yuko (Pride, Mukodono!) as Mugita Natsumi who fakes some tears to get rid of the customer so she can go to lunch. Just as she’s about to eat she’s dragged from the restaurant by Nabeshima Kennichiro played by Tsutsumi Shinichi (Metro ni notte, Sailor Fuku to Kikanjuu). He explains that his father is ill and because of a feud they only way he can return home is with a bride, she reluctantly agrees when he promise her the best omurice in all of Japan at his fathers restaurant “Kitchen Macaroni”. Yamada Takayuki (Long Love Letter, Densha Otoko) plays an assistant chef at the restaurant and Yamashita Tomohisa (Nobuta wo Produce, Kurosagi) plays the youngest brother Nabeshima Koshiro. Ito Misaki (Kiken na Aneki, Gokusen) is Shiomi Tomato what a great name! the girl who likes Junzaburo.

I love this drama it’s your typical reverse harem manga storyline done in traditional shojo style for drama. The cast is really great and Takeuchi has a wonderful chemistry with each of them. It’s also the first drama I ever remember the sweet Ito Misaki doing something mean. If you like reverse harem shows like Hana Kimi, manga like Wallflower or anime like Ouran Host Club give this show a try or if you happen to enjoy cooking dramas this is one of the best. Oh, yeah it has a great theme song that was a hit when I was in high school, Joy to the World by Three Dog Night.

Download all 12 episodes of the English hard sub release here. The subs the first 10 episodes were subbed by Studio Oto and the final two by SARS.

I love Takeuchi Yuko in this series. I kept thinking I saw her somewhere when until I remembered that she was one of the victims of Sadako in Ringu.
