Episode 1 Intense Chase Prologue

The new series begins as Miyuki Kobayakawa hugs her friends as she prepares to depart from America where she has been studying profiling. She meets a young boy Randy at the ticket counter and again on the plane as they are seated together. She pulls out a letter and photo from her partner Natsumi Tsujimoto which serves to reintroduce the characters who work with them at the police station, and explains that she has been at JSDF Ranger training. Then Miyuki starts playing a video game as Randy watches, she asks him to play and he says he’s never played a video game before. After they land a yakuza grabs the boy who yells to Miyuki for help, she grabs him back and borrows a van and that’s when the action really begins.

This was a good introductory episode to the new season that quickly reintroduces the characters and gets us right into a case and action scenes. Nakajima offerings laughs along the way. I’ve been following You’re Under Arrest since I first saw the 2002 drama with Sachie Hara and Misaki Ito. While I prefer the drama to the anime and the manga I’ve always enjoyed YUA in any of it’s formats. I’ll definitely keep watching the new season.
