Genshiken 2 げんしけん Episode 6 Screen Caps

Episode 6 Problematic Hobby

Ohno clips parts for the model she’s working on in the Genshiken as Madarame tells Sasahara about stories he’s heard regarding job interviews and the problems that he’s personally encountered in recent interviews of his own. Sasahara’s response is the opposite of what Madarame actually did at the interview and Madarame already knows that he failed miserably. But then Madarame quotes Char “The inevitable errors of youth, of my own self.” Ohno tries to cheer him up but only winds up reminding Madarame that he’s not brilliant. Sasahara tells him not to worry he still has time and hands him the ComicFes catalog making Madarame a picture perfect ota-ryman. The discussion turns to the club’s plan for the upcoming convention, comic buying strategies and cosplay. Ohno questions Ogiue about whether she plans to attend the convention on the first day, Ogiue immediately responds negatively stating she doesn’t want to go to a lust saturated place, but that she will attend the final day with the club as a group. Sasahara tries to encourage her to go; advising that if Ogiue plans to be a seller then the more experience she has the better.

As I said in the last post, we’re now into the Ogiue arc of the manga and she’s quite funny and very interesting to watch this self deluded character, the episode is classic otaku and I very much like they way they expanded the scene at ComicFes from the manga where she’s eavesdropping on the guys, it has a lot to say about all of their unique characters and how they perceive things.

Download the first seven episodes from the DB fansub group tracker here, see screen caps of the first 5 episodes here and the OVA here.

"....the final volume of the manga has been released today" How many are there? I found the scanlation of volume 36 which matches with this episode. This series is getting better and better. Emotions expressed by different characters are so real and complex. You're right. This is the best of the best. GiGi

@G2I got volume 36 (episode 7)

I think that's chapter 36 it's the final chapter in Volume 6 titled Graduation Syndrome , Del Rey finished with volume 9 today. So you need volumes 7-9 to finish the series.
