Hayate & Maria Date

The highlight of the date between Hayate & Maria in episode 35 of Hayate no Gotoku! is of course the Museum of Parasites. Now if your a careful listener of the Weekly Anime Review Podcast you know that this museum actually exists and you can here Aaron and Diana's experience there in episode 59 of WARP. Aaron also recently reviewed my favorite current anime Genshiken 2 in episode 63 and he reviewed the original Genshiken anime series way back in episode 1 in 2005.

The Meguro Parasitological Museum in Tokyo the official English site. Here's a site that has an online tour of the museum. Be sure not to miss the Two pictures on this panel show elephantiasis of scrotum.
On weekend many visitors, not only parasite-lovers but 'lovers', come and watch charming and pretty parasites.

I guess the Hayate director wasn't making this stuff up, isn't Japanese pop culture a wonderful thing!

That is too cool, thanks for sharing! Everyone loves parasites.... well, until they do that to your scrotum that is. :/

If I hadn't listened to your show I would have thought that it was something the writer of Hayate made up as a joke. The Japanese are truly some strange and wonderful people!
