Yami to Bōshi to Hon no Tabibito

Yami, the Hat, and the Books of the Travelers
The anime opens as Hazuki remembers holding her mute adopted older sister Hatsumi in her arms; Hazuki was very excited but also wondered how long her happiness could last. The scene changes to the previous week when Hazuki walks into the bath just as Hatsumi pours a basin of water over herself before entering the bathtub. Hazuki rushes from the bath in embarrassment and hasn’t been able to face her beloved sister for a week. Hatsumi’s birthday is the following day and Hazuki wishes to have a party for her but that day she witness’s a kiss between Hatsumi and a boy that Hazuki only suspected existed. Later in the evening they fight and Hazuki slightly injuries Hatsumi with a letter opener. Just before midnight Hazuki enters the sleeping Hatsumi’s room, a bright light levitates the sleeping girl gradually the light intensifies and the Hatsumi disappears.
Up to this point it looked like this was just going to be a Shoujo-Ai romance anime, but then the storyline radically changes as the sword carrying Hazuki travels from world to world in search of her sister. Along the way she meets other characters who are also searching for her sister but each has a different name for her. This anime is based on the 18+ visual novel but the anime is more of an ecchi magical adventure. It’s a short fluff series so if you find some time on your hands and you enjoy show like Tsubasa Chronicle, Zero no Tsukaima or Slayers you’d probably enjoy this show as long as a modicum of Shoujo-Ai doesn’t offend you.
