Hachimitsu to Clover ハチミツとクローバー Episode 2 Screen Caps

Honey and Clover Episode 2
Ocean, tears, and a kiss won by lottery

Takemoto played by Ikuta Toma (Hanazakari no Kimitachi e, Akihabara@Deep) dreams of winning an LCD TV in a merchants lottery run by Yamada's father. But Morita played by Narimiya Hiroki (Sushi Oji!, Orange Days) grabs him and along with Mayama played by Mukai Osamu (Nodame Cantabile, Bambino!) do Rock, Paper, Scissors to see who dons the suit of armor and surreptitiously observes the art class with the nude model. Takemoto's arm hurts from the heavy axe that he's holding and he can only see the bare back of the model as she faced in the other direction but he hopes for a better view when professor Shoda played by Matsushige Yutaka (Proposal Daisakusen, Saiyuuki) calls for a break. Hagumi played by Narumi Riko (Enka no Joou, Ichi Rittoru no Namida) looks right at him but fails to recognize him with the helmeted visor concealing his face. Just before Shoda calls for the break he enters Takemoto line of sight and starts doing stretches so Takemoto doesn't get to see a thing. Then Morita and Mayama pull the fire alarm and start yelling fire. Takemoto panics and starts running but the frightened class blocks his exit, and he's apprehended by Shoda. While Shoda reprimands him in the hallway Morita makes fun of him in front of Mayama and Hagumi.

The shows starting to hit it's stride this week after last week's introductory episode, with some funny bits like the opening and some development in the relationships of the two love triangles. I just loved the scene of the armour suited Takemoto knocking over the easels as he tries to avoid capture in front of Hagumi. While I'm enjoying this a lot, fans of the anime and manga who are obsessive that the story details not be changed might not. For example without giving any spoilers the sakura observation changed to a beach picnic. But the show is being filmed in the winter so cherry blossoms aren't readily available. In any adaptation I like changes, I like to see the story examined from a different point of view, as long as those changes are interesting and don't alter the main sense of the original creator.
