Shika otoko Aoniyoshi 鹿男あをによし Ep 3 Screen Caps

Ogawa Takanobu played by Tamaki Hiroshi (Nodame Cantabile, Water Boys) freaks out after washing his face when he looks in the mirror and in place of his face is a buck’s head, complete with antlers. Fujiwara Michiko played by Ayase Haruka (Hotaru no Hikari, Hero) comes into the bathroom to brush her teeth, but when she looks at Ogawa he goes nuts and starts yelling. She complains to him, that she has a headache from drinking at the meeting party with the other school. Ogawa asks her what she sees when she looks in the mirror but Michiko thinks he still drunk, because he looks normal to everyone else. He goes to meet with the deer in the Tobihino park and is told that because he has failed as the Deliverer he was marked, and that’s why he now has a deer head. He needs to get the trophy that will be awarded to the winning school’s kendo club, and then the deer will grant one wish which he can use to remove the marking that causes his head to look like a buck.

The show gets more surreal and funny with each passing episode, it’s a show I didn’t have real high expectations for it just sounded too wierd, but it is one of my favourites of the winter drama season. Tamaki is doing a great job with his odd ball character, almost the reverse of his character in Nodame. Tabe Mikako (Yamada Taro Monogatari, Hinokio) as Hotta Ito has had little screen time in the last few episodes but I think that’s going to change in the next episode where the focus will be on the kendo club. Fans of Bamboo Blade take note you may really enjoy this drama.
