Osen おせん Ep.3 Screen Shots

Osen played by Aoi Yu (Hula Girl, Hana and Alice) is out front of the inn with the waitresses hanging a banner for tororo and they ask her why they only have a banner for that dish. She guesses that it’s because it’s a specialty of the restaurant. The waitresses are surprised that she doesn’t know. They assume she knows everything. She tells them there are many things she doesn’t know, she doesn’t even know who her father is. Later Yoshio played by Uchi Hiroki (Ganbatte Ikimasshoi) is having a beer in a bar listening to an old man played by Nishimura Masahiko (Akimahende) tell stories about his days as a master chef. The man boasts that he could cut up a fish so fast that you could put it back in the water swimming, but Yoshio doesn’t believe him. Then Yoshio tells him that he works at Isshouan and the man seems very interested, but then he runs off leaving Yoshio to pay his tab. Yoshio follows after him, and the man tells him that Isshouan got a lot of business because of him and then slashes Yoshio belt causing his pants to fall down.

I love this slice of life show, it’s definitely not for everyone as it’s very slowed paced with little action but it’s just feels relaxing to watch. The show is pretty random in nature with a new guest star introduced in the past two episodes but the question of who her father is may be an ongoing storyline. I’ve seen some posts that decry the amount of alcohol that Osen drinks but she stays relatively sober this episode. Personally I think her drinking is a funny part of the storyline, I loved the episode where she had her socks on in the tub.

I didn't particularly find this episode as good as the first and second, since they focussed to way too much on that guy. But the ending was quite touching and I hope episode would come soon.

P.S. I am currently about 50% done editing episode 4 of loss time. Expect it tomorrow.

@Quy I agree still really love the show but especially when Osen is on screen. I liked that she was tricked into believing he was her father, but she still enjoyed pretending that he was.
